I'm guessing GW:EN will include a Elite Armor which uses Diamonds, thus Ectos will crash and Diamonds will be the wonderful price of 20k each for a little while

i don't think ectos will be going back up this time.

Ectos are easier to get then ever.
Rare skins are easier to get then ever.
who needs to hoard ectos and cash anymore?

It's worth noting that Sup Vigors have gone down quite significantly as well, so something's definitely up. Fits with the theory of deflation.

Anet know that ecto's are used by the majority as a high end currency, they wont let the value drop too low. If they need to adjust drop rates to keep ectos in the 6-10k bracket, they will do.

The "majority" don't have high end currency. I'm not sure that they care about the rest.

I doubt that ectos will fall much below 6k, but if they did I very much doubt ANet would intervene for the sake of the minority super-rich. People will simply find something else to replace ecto as the highest end commodity if the price dramatically falls. I for one, couldn't care less if ecto falls to 1k each. So people with tons of cash already, lose some. Cry me a river.

And it looks like once the super rich can't maintain the current ecto price of 7.5-8k ecto are going to drop.

Ectos are the old and busted and elite tombs are the new hotness

I think they should go back down to 4k or so. That way I could afford some! LOL
